Services will be Tuesday, April 26, 2011; 10:30 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church, rural Juniata with Pastor Greg Volzke officiating. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery, rural Juniata, Nebraska. Visitation will be Monday, April 25, 2011; 3:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. with family present from 7:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and 1 hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Christ Lutheran School. Glenn was born December 29, 1925 in Prosser, Nebraska to William and Dora (Pratt) Berg. He graduated from Juniata High School and helped operate the family farm. On June 1, 1947, he married his high school sweetheart Evelyn Gangwish. As a team they farmed together in the Prosser and Hastings area until retirement in 1993 at which time they moved to Hastings. Glenn was a devoted husband and father who loved children. There generally was an “extra” that came to spend the summer on the farm. Glenn was a very active member at Christ Lutheran Church, Juniata, where he held several leadership positions in the Lutheran Layman’s League. In 1959 Glenn was named Outstanding Farmer of the Year. Many will remember Glenn for his outgoing personality and endless sense of humor. After the death of his wife in 2003, Glenn moved to the Kensington where he resided until the first of April, 2011. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn; sisters, Norma Adcock and Helen Bruntz; and granddaughter, Heather Dady. Survivors include: |
