Evelyn Ruth Hammond, 81, of Perkins Pavilion, died Monday, August 20, 2001 at Perkins Pavilion. Services will be Thursday, August 23, 2001; 10:30 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Donald E. Boeschen officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Hastings, Nebraska. Evelyn Ruth Hammond was born December 3, 1919 in Juniata, Nebraska to Edo & Anna (Koch) Borchers. She married Harley Hammond on December 2, 1944 in Juniata, Nebraska and he preceded her in death on May 15, 1959. They moved from Thurston, Nebraska to Hastings in 1948. She provided day care, was an Avon representative, worked at Hastings High School, Sunnyside Home, was a housekeeper at Mary Lanning Hospital Dormitory and as a night receptionist for Butler-Volland Funeral Home. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Fellowship League, all in Hastings, Nebraska. Evelyn Ruth Hammond was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harley, 1 grandson, David Joseph Hammond, 3 sisters, Martha, infant Helena, Elise and 6 brothers, Henry, William, Albert, infant Ernest, Lorenz and Leonard.
