Hastings resident, Richard H. Smidt, 84, of 722 Circle B, died Monday,
December 3, 2001 at his home. Services will be Thursday, December 6, 2001; 10:00 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Carl W. Utley officiating. Burial will be in Hanover Presbyterian Churchyard Cemetery, rural Hastings, Nebraska. Richard H. Smidt was born November 1, 1917 to Henry & Tina (Hinrichs) Smidt. He married Irene G. Krull on October 9, 1938 at the 2nd Presbyterian Church, Hastings, Nebraska. He was a lifelong Adams County resident and farmer. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Richard H. Smidt was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, LaMoine, 5 brothers, Arnold, Klaus, Ernie, George & Junior and an infant sister. Survivors include, Wife: Irene Smidt - Hastings, NE Daughter & Son-in-law: Norma & Don Wiseman - Fairbury, NE Daughter-in-law: Evelyn Smidt - Glenvil, NE 7 Grandchildren 16 Great Grandchildren Sister: Hilma Gartner - Hastings, NE Memorial maybe given to the family Butler-Volland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. |
