Former area resident, Evelyn M. Whitlake, 76, of Kearney, Nebraska, died Wednesday, February 14, 2001 at Mother Hull, Kearney, Nebraska. Services will be Monday, February 19, 2001; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Earl Higgins officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery. Evelyn M. Whitlake was born April 2, 1924 in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska to Merle LeRoy & Edna Frances (Wilbur) DeLancey. She graduated from Fullerton High School and on August 3, 1944, married Elwood R. Whitlake. He preceded her in death in July, 1987. She worked at and retired from Mode ‘O Day and was an area resident for 55 years, until moving to Kearney in 1994. Evelyn M. Whitlake was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Elwood, infant son; Donald, son; Ronald, a daughter; Faye Kloke, 2 step brothers, Duane and Noel Garrison, a sister; Dorothy Watson, and step father, Ezra Glen Garrison.
