Guy, ‘Shorty’ Williams, 97, of 730 Barnes Ave., died Thursday, November
15, 2001 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Memorial graveside service and interment will be Monday, November 19, 2001; 10:30 A.M. at the Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull, Nebraska with Pastor Lloyd Boyce officiating. Guy ‘Shorty’ Williams was born November 27, 1903 in DeKalb County, Missouri to Charles & Viola (Stockton) Williams. He moved to the Hastings, Nebraska area with his family in 1908. On April 20, 1933, he married Doris Shultz. He was a member of Hanover Presbyterian Church, rural Glenvil, Nebraska and was a farmer before his retirement. Guy ‘Shorty’ Williams was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Survivors include, Wife: Doris Williams - Hastings, NE Daughters & Sons-in-law: Marjorie Hays - Hastings, NE Jean & Duane Walker - Hastings, NE Ann Frisch - Los Fresnos, TX Judy & George Briggs - McCook, NE 1 Grandchildren 18 Great Grandchildren 5 Great-Great Grandchildren Memorial maybe given to Cancer Research-NE Chapter No viewing. The remains were cremated. Butler-Volland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
