George Idt, 92, of 230 E. 9th, died Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at Mary
Lanning Memorial Hospital. Services will be Friday, August 9, 2002; 2:00 P.M. at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Donald Boeschen officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. George Idt was born July 9, 1910 in Sutton, Nebraska to Alexander & Katherine (Bender) Idt. He attended Sutton High School and graduated in 1929. He married Ruth Thurin in Omaha, Nebraska on July 5, 1940. He worked at the Paris Café in Sutton, Schwendt Café in Clay Center, Evans Ice Cream Company in Omaha, Maxon Construction Company, Naval Ammunition Depot and 35 years at Carmichael Construction Company in Hastings, Nebraska. He retired in 1980. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. George Idt was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Survivors include, Wife: Ruth Idt - Hastings, NE Daughter & Son-in-law: Barbara & Kenneth Swenson - Mercer Island, WA Sons & Daughters-in-law: Gary & Karen Idt - Yankton, SD Gerald & Mary Idt - Lincoln, NE Brother: John Idt - Kerrville, TX Sister: Jean Prestin - Mesa, AZ Grandchildren & Spouse: 6 Eric Swenson Robert & Michelle Swenson Brian Idt Angela Idt Jason Idt John Idt Memorial may be given to Peace Lutheran Church |
