Rita Jean Vacek, 68, of 507 Lane ‘E’, died Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at
her home. Rosary will be Friday, August 16, 2002; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 17, 2002; 9:30 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with Father Larry Gyhra officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Rita Jean Vacek was born September 18, 1933 in Hastings, Nebraska to Francis Walter ‘Walt’ & Ella (Cornelius) Brannigan. She graduated from St. Cecilia High School in 1951. On December 26, 1952, she married Joseph F. Vacek and they later divorced. She was a homemaker and a secretary for the Transportation Department at Central Community College for 26 years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church and a past member of the Altar Society. Rita Jean Vacek was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, James Vacek and a grandson Michael Vacek. Survivors include, Sons & Daughter-in-law: Mark & Rene Vacek - Hastings, NE Tom Vacek - Crete, NE John Vacek - Hastings, NE Daughters & Sons-in-law: Cathy & David Eastman - Giltner, NE Valerie & Joel Aspen - Lawrenceville, GA Mary & Tony Wright - Springdale, AR 11 Grandchildren: Jason, Korey & Ashley Vacek Heather & Joshua Wright Jessica Reyes Travis & Adam Vacek Melinda, Brittany & Michael Eastman 2 Great Grandchildren: Jocelyn & Alex Reyes Sister: Carol Alvarado - Rialto, CA Nephew: Scott Bailey - San Bernardino, CA Memorial may be given to The Family |
