LeRoy W. Samuelson, 88, of 712 Sycamore, died Monday, December 16, 2002
at his home. Services will be Thursday, December 19, 2002; 2:00 P.M. at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Sacia Vik officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery. LeRoy W. Samuelson was born May 11, 1914 in Clay County, Nebraska to Albin & Alida (Swanson) Samuelson. He attended Clay county District 10 in Lewis Township and after his eighth grade graduation, stayed at home to help with the family farm. On November 12, 1938, he married June R. Knowles in Hastings, Nebraska. He farmed in Clay County until his retirement in 1980 when they moved into Hastings, Nebraska. They celebrated their 64th anniversary in November. He was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He was a life long area resident. LeRoy W. Samuelson was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Milan Samuelson and a great grandson, Evan Franzen. Survivors include, Wife: June R. Samuelson - Hastings, NE Son & Daughter-in-law: LeRoy Jr. & Connie Samuelson - Hastings, NE Daughter & Son-in-law: Vicky & Gerald Frerichs - Hastings, NE Grandchildren: Tami Wegener Becky Niewedde Ange Shipman Chad Samuelson Trissy Franzen April Michael Great Grandchildren: Adam & Austin Wegener Spencer & Mirah Niewedde Abby & Megan Shipman Ashley Franzen Memorial may be given to First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church
