Hildegard F. Svoboda, 85, of 1116 Circle L., died Wednesday, February
20, 2002 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Rosary will be Friday, February 22, 2002; 8:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 23, 2002; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with Father Larry Gyhra officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Hastings, Nebraska. Hildegard F. Svoboda was born July 28, 1916 in Nuckolls County, Nebraska. near St. Stephens to Ben & Elizabeth (Kliene) Venhaus. She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1934 and married William J. Svoboda on September 11, 1939 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lawrence, Nebraska. She was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Altar Society in Hastings and American Legion Auxiliary, Gold Star Sisters Lawrence, Nebraska. She moved to Hastings, Nebraska 18 years ago from the Blue Hill, Nebraska area. Hildegard F. Svoboda was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 7 brothers.
