Former Hastings resident, Jay S. Petersen, 60, died, Tuesday, December
9, 2003 at Harvard Rest Haven, Harvard, Nebraska, following a long
illness. Memorial Mass will be Monday, December 15, 2003; 10:30 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska, with Father Larry Gyhra officiating. Private family interment will be at a later date. No viewing as Mr. Petersen was cremated. Jay S. Petersen was born June 22, 1943 at Clinton, Iowa to Leo M. & Helen M (Tucker) Petersen. He attended St. Mary’s High School in Clinton and the University of Iowa. He lived in Iowa City, Iowa before moving to Hastings, Nebraska in 1988 where he worked at IGA Grocery Store. His hobbies included gardening, history and helping friends in need. Jay S. Petersen was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew. Survivors include, Brothers & Sister-in-law: Lee & Carol Petersen - Grand Island, NE Mark Petersen - Hastings, NE 4 Nieces 1 Nephew Several grand nieces and nephews.
