Hastings resident, Hazel Lucille West Hayes, 93, of Perkins Pavilion,
died Monday, December 6, 2004 at Perkins Pavilion Private graveside services. Memorial Mass at a later date. Mrs. Hayes was born June 11, 1911 in Mitchell, South Dakota to Warren & Etta (Smith) West. In 1914, she moved with her parents to Plankinton, South Dakota, where she grew up and attended school. After the death of her husband, Ray Hayes in 1949, Mrs Hayes and her family moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1955. This is where she made her home ever since. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church and Altar Society, Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ray, one sister, Ethel and a brother, Melvin. Survivors include, Daughters & Son-in-law: Myrna & Dean Dover - Madison, NE Janice ‘Jan’ Hayes - Hastings, NE Son & Daughter-in-law: Jim & LaDonna Hayes -Palm Coast, FL 6 Grandchildren 12 Great Grandchildren Sisters: Joyce Glatt Ila Edinger Several Nieces & Nephews Memorial may be given to the family - a memorial will be established at a later date |
