Hastings resident, Elsie L. ‘LaVern’ Saddler, 86, of The Villa, Good
Samaritan Village, died Sunday, December 19, 2004 at Mary Lanning
Memorial Hospital. Services will be Monday, December 27, 2004; 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Paul Knott officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull, Nebraska. Mrs. Saddler was born May 4, 1918 in Trumbull, Nebraska to Clarence & Ethel (Todd) McDowell. She graduated from Trumbull High School, Trumbull, Nebraska. She married William G. Saddler on March 18, 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1988. In 1962, she moved from Trumbull to Hastings, Nebraska. She was a nurses aide at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital and also at Good Samaritan Village. She was a life long area resident and a member of the Berean Bible Church, Extension Club and the Y.W.C.A. Mrs. Saddler was preceded in death by her parents and husband William. Survivors include, Daughters & Sons-in-law: Beverly & Duane Burt - Lathrop, MO Sharon & Bill Wolfe - Hastings, NE Connie & Danny Patterson, Spanaway, WA Sons & Daughters-in-law: Ron & Loretta Saddler - Hastings, NE Larry & Sue Saddler - Santa Barbara, CA 15 Grandchildren 27 Great Grandchildren 2 Great-Great Grandchildren Brother & Sister-in-law: Arthur & Arliss McDowell - Trumbull, NE Sister: Berdina Williams - Dayton, OH Memorial may be given to Berean Bible Church VISITATION: Sun. Dec. 26, 2004; 1pm-9pm with family present 2pm-4pm Mon. Dec. 27, 2004; 9am until service time |
