Carl F. Barton, 75, of the Homestead. 1116 Sycamore., Hastings,
Nebraska, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Services will be Friday, June 18, 2004; 10:30 A.M. at North Shore Assembly of God Church with Pastor Tony Anderson officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Veterans Organizations will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Mr. Barton was born May 18, 1929 in Union City, Pennsylvania to John L. & Viva ‘Waive’ (Chapin) Barton. He grew up in Union City, Pennsylvania. He was a corporal in the United States Army Air Force serving from February 18, 1946 to June 29, 1949 mostly at the Kearney, Nebraska Air Force Base. He married Betty L. Sands on June 20, 1951 and they later divorced. He moved from Kearney to Hastings, Nebraska in 1962. He worked in construction as an iron worker. On April 29, 1984, he married Sharon L. ( Richardson) Starr in Hastings, Nebraska and she preceded him in death on January 19, 2004. He was a member of North Shore Assembly of God Church. Mr. Barton was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sharon, brothers, Laurence, Bobby, Earl and Lloyd and a grandson, Chad Michael Green.
