Hastings resident, Donald T. Kloppenberg, 87, of Perkins Pavilion, died
Monday, February 14, 2005 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Graveside services and burial will be Thursday, February 17, 2005; 1:30 P.M. at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska with Father Ramon Decaen officiating. Mr. Kloppenberg was born June 26, 1917 in Greenleaf, Kansas to August & Lydia (Talbot) Kloppenberg. He graduated from Greenleaf High School, Greenleaf, Kansas and attended Citizens’ Military Training Camp at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas for 4 years. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad as a fireman and retired from the Hastings Police Department in 1979 after 22 years. He was a member of the Police Officer Association, the Saddle Club in Grand Island, Nebraska and the Eagles in both Hastings, Nebraska & Grand Island, Nebraska. Mr. Kloppenberg was preceded in death by his parents and one sister and two brothers. Survivors include, Son & Daughter-in-law: Donald T. ‘Terry’ & Janis Kloppenberg - KS 3 Grandchildren Great Grandchildren: Several Sister: Berniece - KS A host of friends.
