Rural Trumbull resident, Marjorie A. Smidt, 81, of 32140 Road ‘A’, died
Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings,
Nebraska. Services will be Friday, July 15, 2005; 10:00 A.M. at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Frank Kerkemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull, Nebraska. Mrs. Smidt was born November 11, 1923 in Wayne, Nebraska to Harold & Gladys (Westlund) Gildersleeve. She graduated from Wayne High School, Wayne, Nebraska and attended Wayne State College for 1 year. On September 27, 1947, she married Howard Wayne Smidt and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and various ladies groups within the church. Mrs. Smidt was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Howard; one brother, Richard and two sisters, Doris & Shirley. Survivors include, Daughters: Lynn Keogh - Hastings, NE Ann Black - Grand Island, NE Son: James Smidt - Trumbull, NE 4 Grandchildren: Angela Thorell John Keogh Andrew Smidt Kristin Smidt 2 Great Grandchildren: Evan Thorell Brett Thorell Numerous Nieces & Nephews Memorial may be given to First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church VISITATION: Thur. 7-14-05; 1pm-9pm with family present from 7pm-9pm |
