Hastings resident, Alvera Agnes Kort, 86, of Perkins Pavilion, died
Monday, March 28, 2005 at Perkins Pavilion. Services will be Friday, April 1, 2005; 10:30 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church, with Rev. Dan Heuer officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Mrs. Kort was born June 17, 1918 in Wisner, Nebraska to Simon & Agnes (Malchow) Meeske. She spent her childhood and early adult life in Wisner, before moving to a farm near Blue Hill, Nebraska. She married Raymond Kort on October 2, 1943 in Wisner, Nebraska. She was a past member of the Ladies Aid at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Hill. She worked with her husband at Trinity Lutheran church and school as custodians for 8 years. In 1977, they moved to Hastings, Nebraska. She volunteered for child care at the YMCA for 14 years and was known as “Grandma” to all the children. She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a life time member of D.A.V. Auxiliary. Mrs. Kort was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and five sisters, including her twin. Survivors include, Husband: Raymond Kort - Hastings, NE Daughters: Beverly Price - Cape Girardeau, MO Dianne Stutheit - Hastings, NE Son: Terry Kort - Hastings, NE 4 Grandchildren 11 Great Grandchildren Brother: Don Meeske - Colorado Springs, CO Sisters: Ruth Duncan - Wisner, NE Mary Artherton - Green Valley, AZ Orva Mae Sudduth - Omaha, NE Numerous Nieces & Nephews Memorial may be given to Family’s Choice VISITATION: Wed. 3-30-05; 1pm-9pm Thur. 3-31-05; 9am-9pm Fri. 4-1-05; 1 hr. prior to service at the church |
