Hastings resident, Victor Dale Bruckman, 77, of 1316 West 12th, died
Saturday, November 26, 2005 at his home. Services will be Wednesday, November 30, 2005; 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Pastor Delmar Klover officiating. Burial will be in Blue Valley Cemetery rural Adams County, near Ayr, Nebraska. Mr. Bruckman was born August 24, 1928 in Hastings, Nebraska to Isa C. (Saunders) and Oren R. Bruckman. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1946 and attended Hastings College. As a young man, he was a pianist for area dance bands. He worked for the Clarke Hotel Garage from 1946-1947. On April 16, 1947, he married Margaret ‘Marmie’ Dickerson in Smith Center, Kansas. From 1948 to 1954, he worked for Hastings Irrigation Pipe Company. In 1954, he moved to Grand Island, Nebraska and was employed by Rainchief Irrigation. In 1962, he moved back to Hastings and worked for McRoberts Industries. In 1964, he opened Bruckman Engineering. He operated this business until his retirement and also owned and managed several area farms. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil, Nebraska, the Eagles Club and Elks Club in Hastings, where he was a past Exalted Ruler in 1991. He was also a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hastings, where he sang in the choir. He enjoyed the outdoors, sports, Husker football, music, animals and his family. Mr. Bruckman was preceded in death by his father, Oren R. Bruckman, mother & step father, Isa & Henry Grasmick.
