Hastings resident, Darell L. Bortis, 87, of 906 East ‘F’, died Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Friday, December 8, 2006; 2:00 P.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Jeff Glawe officiating. Burial will be in Glenvil Cemetery, all in Glenvil, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, December 7, 2006; 2pm-9pm, Friday, December 8, 2006; 9am-Noon at the funeral home & 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil.

Mr. Bortis was born January 23, 1919 to Anthony C. & Gertrude (Kissinger) Bortis in Clay County, near Glenvil, Nebraska. He graduated from Glenvil High School in 1936. On August 10, 1941, he married Dorothy L. Onken in Glenvil, Nebraska. He was a farmer and a lifetime area resident. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil.

Mr. Bortis was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, one brother, Lawrence Bortis, one infant brother and one infant sister.
