Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 3, 2007; 10:30 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with Father Christopher Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Sunday, December 31, 2006; 1pm-9pm, Monday, January 1, 2007; 1pm-9pm, Tuesday, 9am-9pm with family present 6pm-8pm all at the funeral home, Wednesday, January 3, 2007 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Memorials to Clay County Senior Services, Clay Center, Nebraska. Ms. Mullen was born November 17, 1931 in Hastings, Nebraska to Hunter Sr. & Helen M. (Ellis) Mullen. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1951 and attended Hastings College for 3 years. She married Lafayette Trotter and he preceded her in death in February of 1986. She was director of Clay County Senior Services. She was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Hastings Aerie #592 Fraternal Order of Eagles, National Federation of Business & Professional Women’s Club, Nebraska Women of Color Network, Multicultural Awareness Committee, and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for the Y.W.C.A. She was a past member of Board of Directors for Y.M.C.A., Hastings Housing Authority, Soroptimist Club and various other clubs & projects. She was appointed to the City Council in 1973 by then Mayor Robert Allen. Ms. Mullen was preceded in death by her grandmother, Roxieanna Buckner, parents, husband, Lafayette, daughter, Cynthia Jean Trotter, brothers, Robert Eugene Mullen, Hunter Mullen Jr., & Herman Mullen and sisters, Wilda Hill & Kennetha Mosby.
