Services will be Thursday, December 21, 2006; 1:30 P.M. at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Blue Valley Cemetery, Ayr, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 19, 2006; 1pm-9pm, Wednesday, December 20, 2006; 9am-9pm with family present from 6pm-8pm & Thursday, December 21, 2006; 9am-11am at Butler-Volland Funeral Home and 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Memorials to First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Mary Lanning Hospice. Mrs. Rutt was born December 8, 1915 on a farm near Campbell, Nebraska to John & Anna (Golter) Bartels. She attended District 44 in Franklin County, Nebraska. On August 20, 1936 she married Clarence Rutt at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Wilcox, Nebraska and he preceded her in death on September 7, 2002. She taught Sunday School for 16 years at St. Paul’s Lutheran – Glenvil, Nebraska and First St. Paul’s Lutheran – Hastings, Nebraska. She was chairperson of LCW (WELCA) in 1976 and chairman of Church Women United in 1977. She was a member of Cozy Corner Extension Club, a 4-H leader for 13 years, helped with voter registration and volunteered at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary for 2,000 hours in 20 years. The family was chosen family of the year at First St. Paul’s Lutheran rally dinner in Hastings, Nebraska in November of 1976. Mrs. Rutt was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence Rutt, five sisters, two brothers and one grandson. Survivors include:
