Hastings resident, Esther E. Goedert, 84, died Sunday, April 22, 2007 at Perkins Pavilion.

Rosary will be Wednesday, April 25, 2007; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 26, 2007; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with Father Christopher P. Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, rural Roseland, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 1PM-9PM., Wednesday, April 25, 2007; 9AM-9PM at the funeral Home & Thursday, 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Hastings Catholic Schools Trust.

Mrs. Goedert was born October 14, 1922 in Juniata, Nebraska to William J. & Eleanor (Gilles) Mangers. On June 23, 1942, she married Earl P. Goedert at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on November 30, 1998. She worked for Dutton-Lainson for 18 years, retiring in 1986. She was a life long area resident and a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church.

Mrs. Goedert was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl, a son, Roger in 1987, brother William Mangers, sister Katherine Mangers and an infant sister.
