Hastings resident, Jakita J. Richard, 89, of 1616 Highland Drive, died Friday, April 6, 2007 at her home.

Memorial service will be Tuesday, April 10, 2007; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Bill Speake officiating. Private family interment in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. No viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital School of Radiologic Technology Scholarship Fund or Mary Lanning Hospice, 715 North St. Joseph, Hastings, Nebraska, 68901.

Mrs. Richard was born June 30, 1917 in Enid, Oklahoma to Jacob H. & Roqua M. (Douthitt) Strickler. She graduated from high school and attended the University of Oklahoma. From there, she worked with the Department of Welfare for the state of Oklahoma. On June 15, 1940, she married Warren E. Richard and he preceded her in death on December 8, 2006.They moved to Hastings from Denver, Colorado in 1952. She was a member of Adams County Medical Alliance, AMA Auxiliary, Chapter G of PEO, Lochland Country Club and First Baptist Church in Enid, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Richard was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Warren E. Richard M.D.
