Services will be Thursday, April 12, 2007, 10:30 A.M. at Westminster United Presbyterian Church, Campbell, Nebraska with Pastor C.L. Wimer officiating. Burial with military rites by Campbell American Legion Post 169 will be in Campbell Presbyterian Cemetery, Campbell, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to Westminster United Presbyterian Church of Campbell or Donor’s Choice. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 10, 2007; 6pm-9pm & Wednesday, April 11, 2007; 9am-1pm at Butler-Volland Funeral Home in Hastings & Wednesday, April 11, 2007; 4pm-9pm at the Campbell Funeral Home & Thursday, April 12, 2007; 1 hr. prior to service at the Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Campbell. Ray was born September 22, 1933 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Alfred & Constance (Choquette) Smith. He attended St. Cecilia High School and graduated from Campbell High School. On December 26, 1952, he married Jacklyn J. Brunke in Smith Center, Kansas. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from June 25, 1953 to May 19, 1955. He was co-owner/operator of Hastings Plumbing & Heating for 23 years. He was a very active member of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church, American Legion, and Campbell Chamber of Commerce, all in Campbell, Nebraska. They moved to Campbell, Nebraska 12 years ago.
