Hastings resident. Marilyn J. Burgess, 73, of 1728 West 4th Street, died Sunday, August 26, at her home.

Services will be Thursday, August 30, 2007; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Jim Miller officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 28, 2007; 9A.M. -9P.M. & Wednesday, August 29, 2007; 9A.M.-9P.M. & Thursday, August 30, 2007; 9AM until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Burgess was born May 13, 1934 in Harvard, Nebraska to Lloyd & Grace (Brown) Breckner. She graduated from Harvard High School and married William Burgess on September 24, 1953 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1990. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church and the Eagles. She was active in her kid’s & grandchildren’s activities. She enjoyed bowling and dancing.

Mrs. Burgess was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William; a brother, Dick Breckner and a step father, Sebert Keim.
