Hastings resident, Annette E. Friend, 76, of 1040 Highland Drive, died Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at her home.

Rosary will be Friday, March 2, 2007; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 3, 2007; 10:30 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with Father Larry Gyhra officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials to Hastings Catholic Schools Trust or Heartland Pet Connection. Visitation will be Thursday, March 1, 2007; 5 P.M.-9 P.M. Friday, March 2, 2007; 9 A.M. - 9 P.M. at the funeral home & Saturday, March 3, 2007; 1 hr. prior to service at the church.

Annette Friend was born October 19, 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska to Harry E. & Cora E. (Mueller) Smith. She was raised in Fremont, Nebraska, graduated from Fremont High School in 1949 and attended Methodist School of Nursing. She moved from Fremont to Hastings, Nebraska in 1953 and married John ‘Jack’ Friend on October 4, 1953. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Altar Society, Mary Lanning Auxiliary, Lochland Country Club and a former member of the Y.W.C.A.

Annette Friend was preceded in death by her parents and an infant twin brother, Harry.
