Hastings resident, Edna JoAnn Shaver, 77, 303 Lakeside Dr., died Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Monday, July 30, 2007; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Dr. Lee R. Wigert officiating. Burial will be in Grand Island City Cemetery, Grand Island, Nebraska at 2:30 P.M. Visitation will be 1 hr. prior to service at Butler-Volland Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the family.

Mrs. Shaver was born July 11, 1930 in Long Pine, Nebraska to Warren L. & Burdetta O. (Simmons) Rice. She graduated from Neligh High School, Neligh, Nebraska and received an Associates Degree in Medical Technology. She taught school in South Dakota and later moved to Hastings, Nebraska. On July 11, 1963, she married Billy Jo Shaver in Rosemont, Nebraska and he preceded her in death on October 8, 1997. She worked at the Regional Center in Hastings and was a bookkeeper for Consumer Service Company. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Ruth Circle, Adams County Historical Society and Adams County Genealogical Society.

Mrs. Shaver was preceded in death by her mother and husband.
