Former Hastings resident, Rose M. Asmus, 71, of Blue Hill Care Center, Blue Hill, Nebraska, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Blue Hill Care Center.

Memorial service will be Saturday, November 17, 2007; 1:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Harold D. Stromer officiating. Burial will be in Hanover Presbyterian Churchyard Cemetery, rural Hastings, Nebraska at a later date. No viewing or visitation. Book signing Friday, November 16, 2007; 9 AM – 9 PM. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.

Ms. Asmus was born April 15, 1936 in Hastings, Nebraska to Frank & Martha (Kroger) Asmus. She graduated from Hastings High School and was previously married to Bob Brown. She was a Care Staff Member at Good Samaritan Village and was also an Avon Representative. She was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and past member of the Eagle’s Auxiliary. She had been living in Blue Hill the last several years with her special friend, Pete Gianakos.

Ms. Asmus was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a daughter, Elaine Haller.
