Hastings resident, Edna E. ‘Stamer’ Janssen, 91, of 721 South 1st Avenue, died Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Monday, October 8, 2007; 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church west of Glenvil, with Pastor Renee Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, October 6, 2007; 1 P.M – 9 P.M. , Sunday, October 7, 2007; 1 P.M. – 9 P.M. with family present from 5 P.M.- 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home and Monday, October 8, 2007, 1 hr. prior to services at the church . Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Mary Lanning Hospice.

Mrs. Janssen was born July 2, 1916 to Anton & Frances (Goldenstein) Stamer in Glenvil, Nebraska. She went to rural District 71 School in Adams County through the 8th grade. She attended high school in Glenvil. On February 9, 1936, she married Herman Janssen and he preceded her in death on May 28, 1983. They had moved from Glenvil to Hastings in 1971. Edna worked in food service at Hastings College for 10 years. Edna was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, W.E. L.C.A. and taught Sunday school and Bible school.

Mrs. Janssen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman; two sisters, Frieda VanBoening & Bernice Jensen; brother, Clarence Stamer and a grandson, Keith Janssen.
