Rosary service will be Thursday, October 4, 2007; 7:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, October 5, 2007; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with Father Larry Gyhra officiating. Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Blue Hill, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 3, 2007, 5 P.M.-9 P.M. &Thursday, October 4, 2007; 9 A.M. 9 P.M., at the funeral home & Friday, October 5, 2007; 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to the family. Mr. Witte was born July 23, 1937 in Webster County to Alvin & Charlotte (Schroer) Witte. He attended District 45 grade school in rural Webster County and graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1956. In 1962, he married Bess Bell. Louis farmed in the Blue Hill, Nebraska area until 1977. On June 3, 1977, he married Laura (Haase) Whitcomb. He was in business as Witte’s Paint & Glass and was owner of Witte’s Window Works for the past 30 years. He closed the business in 2005. He was active in AA, Sertoma & Arid Society and served in the National Guard Reserves for 6 years. Mr. Witte was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gregg and a brother, Ronald.
