Juniata resident, Wilbur J. Katzberg, 86, of 1675 N. Prosser Avenue, died Sunday, September 16, 2007 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Wednesday, September 19, 2007; 10:00 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church, rural Juniata with Pastor Greg Volzke officiating. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery, rural Juniata. Visitation will be Monday, September 17, 2007; 5 P.M. – 9 P.M., Tuesday, September 18, 2007; 9 A.M.- 9 P.M. at the funeral home and Wednesday, September 19, 2007; 1 hr. prior to service at the church. A memorial will be established.

Mr. Katzberg was born December 12, 1920 in Adams County on the family farm to Albert & Maria (Reiners) Katzberg. He graduated from Kenesaw High School, Kenesaw, Nebraska in 1939 and attended Kearney State College, Kearney, Nebraska. He married Irene M. Hanson on July 27, 1946 and she preceded him in death on October 24, 1991. He was a farmer and a life long member of Christ Lutheran Church and a charter member of Hastings Chorus of the Plains. He was also a member of Hastings Optimist Club, Hastings Major League Bowling Association & Adams County Planning & Zoning Commission.

Mr. Katzberg was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene; brother, Walter Katzberg and two brothers-in-law, Orval Augustin & Leon Stulken.
