Inland
resident, Caroline Garbers Green, 96, of 205 N. 2nd Street, died Friday,
December 12, 2008 at her home.
Memorial service will be Tuesday, December 16, 2008; 2:00 P.M. at Inland
United Methodist Church. Inurnrment in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings,
Nebraska at a later date. Memorials may be given to the family.
Mrs. Green was born October 19, 1912 on a farm west of Chapman, Nebraska
to Frederick & Hazel (Kuhlman) Garbers. She graduated from Chapman High
School and Midland College, Fremont, Nebraska. She taught school for 33
years in Soctia, Harvard, and Doniphan, Nebraska. She was the principal
at Doniphan for the first 7 years and was full-time Librarian the last
10 years. She sponsored the school paper and annual; coached numerous 3-
act plays and all speech and Drama activities. On May 16, 1937, she
married George N. Green at South Sioux City, Nebraska and he preceded
her in death in 1992. She was a member of United Methodist Women and
Inland Community Homemakers. She was the church pianist since 1964 and
church treasurer since 1980 at Inland United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George and 2
sisters.
