Hastings resident, Phyllis J. Jungck, 79, of 2400 West 8th Street, died
Saturday, December 13, 2008 at her home.
Services will be Thursday, December 18, 2008; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland
Chapel with Rev. Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be Thursday,
December 18, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. in Fairbury Cemetery, Fairbury, Nebraska.
Memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church. Visitation will be
Tuesday, December 16, 2008; 1:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. & Wednesday, December
17, 2008; 9:00 A.M. -9:00 P.M. and Thursday, December 18, 2008; 9:00
A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jungck was born November 12, 1929 in Beatrice, Nebraska to Harold
A. & Carrie E. (Workman) Workman. She graduated from Beatrice High
School in 1947. She was a switchboard operator at Lincoln Telephone &
Telegraph for almost 25 years in Beatrice, Lincoln and Hastings,
Nebraska. She met Ed Jungck in 1948 and they dated for 3 years before
marring on July 19, 1952 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She also worked at the
onion factory in Hastings and the Grand Island Ordinance Plant. She was
baptized and became a member at Faith Lutheran Church in Hastings.
Mrs. Jungck was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Steven E.
Jungck on May 30, 1996; brother, Ronald Workman and infant twin
brothers.
