Memorial services will be Saturday, October 25, 2008; 11:00 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Rev. William Nottage-Tacey officiating, followed by a luncheon in Fellowship Hall. There will be a private family burial. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church or Hastings Museum Foundation. Mrs. McClelland was born January 20, 1926 to Vincent and Mary (Mamie) Heine in Holdrege, NE. She graduated from Grand Island High School in 1944 and Doane College in 1948 with a bachelors in Education. She taught at Campbell school before marrying Robert S. McClelland of Hastings on August 9, 1948. They lived in Lead, SD from 1948 to 1950 when they returned to Hastings where Robert became owner of McClelland Farm Equipment from 1950 until their retirement in 1987. Mrs. McClelland was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she served in many different rolls from Sunday School Teacher to Deacon. She was active in Presbyterian Women in various positions. Mrs. McClelland taught at the YWCA preschool for many years. A judge for the National Begonia Society, Mrs. McClelland spent hours in her greenhouse nurturing her plants and traveled extensively attending Begonia Society conventions. She is preceded in death by her husband in 1996, her parents, one brother, and one sister. Survivors include: |
