Services will be Saturday, January 12, 2008; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Delmar Klover officiating. Burial will be Saturday, 1:00 P.M. in Blue Valley Cemetery, south of Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, January 11, 2008; 9 A.M.- 9 P.M. & Saturday, January 12, 2008; 9 A.M. until service time. Memorials may be given to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. .

Mrs. Preston was born December 18, 1919 in Knox County, Nebraska to Carl O. & Minnie (Ludvigson) Olson. She graduated from Wausa High School, Wausa, Nebraska and attended Luther College in Wahoo, Nebraska for two years. In December of 1948, she married Sam Preston and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1993. Eleanor was employed as a secretary in Grand Island and Hastings until retiring in 1982. She and her husband lived southeast of Pauline from 1979 until 1996 when she moved to Good Samaritan Village in Hastings.

Mrs. Preston was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam; three brothers, Willard (who died in the South Pacific in WWI), Kennard and Lester.
