Former Hastings resident, Beverly Darlene Baker, 79, of Marquis Place, Elkhorn, Nebraska, died Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at her home. Services will be Saturday, August 16, 2008; 2:00 P.M at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Tom Murray officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, August 15, 2008; 5:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M & Saturday, August 16, 2008; 9:00 A.M. until service time. Memorials may be given to Phelps County Community Foundation or Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation. Mrs. Baker was born November 5, 1928 in Vermillion, South Dakota to Earle & Wilma (Clark) Thorson. After Earle Thorson died she was raised by D.H. & Wilma (Clark) Pederson. She married Elmer Paul Baker on November 24, 1946 and preceded her in death on December 24, 2000. She was a former member of the United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Elk’s Club and a china painter, all in Holdrege, Nebraska. She was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper for many years at K-N. Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Sally Wanek and a grandson, Michael Baker. Survivors include: |
