Rosary will be Wednesday, August 13, 2008; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 14, 2008; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 12, 2008; 5:00 P.M-9:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 13, 2008; 9:00 A.M.-9:00 P.M. at the funeral home and Thursday, August 14, 2008, 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Mr. Johannes was born September 29, 1925 in Cass County, Iowa to Charles D. & Bertha (Krauth) Johannes. He graduated from Creston High School, Creston, Iowa and served in the United States Navy from February 25, 1945 until July 3, 1946. On June 19, 1948, he married Teresa Harvey in Creston, Iowa. He was a salesman for Montgomery Wards for 37 years and later worked at Consumers Service Company in Hastings. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael’s Men’s Club, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, 60 year member of the American Legion, Elks Lodge & Golf Course and Mid-Nebraska Legal & Human Rights Committee for many years. Mr. Johannes was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angela Johannes, two granddaughters, two brothers and four sisters. Survivors include: |
