Leo W. Meisenbach Jr.

Hastings resident, Leo W. Meisenbach Jr., 81, of 1113 South Hastings, died Thursday, August 14, 2008 at his home.

Rosary will be Monday, August 18, 2008; 6:30 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 19, 2008; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Book signing will be Sunday, August 17, 2008, 1:00-9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hastings Catholic Schools Trust.

Mr. Meisenbach was born November 22, 1926 in Hastings, NE to Leo W. Sr. & Bess (McCulloch) Meisenbach. He joined the Army Air Force and served during WWII. On April 15, 1950, he married Diane Killinger at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Hastings. He was a truck driver for CMF and other companies before retiring from CMF. He lived most of his life in Hastings; they lived in Tucson, AZ and Hastings, from 1984-2005, before moving back to Hastings because of health reasons. He was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, and Lifelong member of the Teamsters. His hobbies included traveling and camping.

Mr. Meisenbach was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jeanne Bergmeier; grandson, Nicholas Bergmeier; brothers, Robert and Bill Meisenbach; sister, Jean Meisenbach.
