Services will be Friday, January 7, 2011; 10:30 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, January 6, 2011; 1:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. with family present from 7:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and 1 hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church or Diabetes Association. Darrell was born on June 19, 1938 in Hastings, Nebraska to Paul & Vivian (Simnett) Shriver. He graduated from Hastings Senior High School in 1956. He married his high school sweetheart, Carole R. Bernhardt on March 21, 1958 and enjoyed “52” blissful years of marriage together. Darrell retired as the Plant Operations Manager at Hastings Industries in “2000” where he worked for over 35 dedicated years. He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing with family and friends. He was surrounded by family and looked forward to attending and supporting his grandchildren with their many sporting and school events. Darrell and Carole raised four children together. Darrell was preceded in death by his father, Paul Shriver; and sister, Shirley Killinger. Survivors include: |
