resident, Cheri L. Curtis, 65, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012 at
Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings,
Nebraska.
Services will be Thursday, February 2, 2012; 2:00 P.M. at Butler Volland
Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Charles Johnson officiating. Burial will be
in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday,
February 1, 2012; 3:00 P.M. 9:00 P.M. and Thursday, February 2, 2012;
9:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. at
the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family. Condolences may
be sent to www.lbvfh.com. Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home &
Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.
Cheri was born November 20, 1946 in Omaha, Nebraska to Clayton & Phyllis
(Larsen) Hartzell. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1965 and
received her degree in Business Administration from Central Community
College in Hastings. Cheri married Gene Walker, he preceded her in death
in July 1968; she married Harold Szafrajda in October 1973, he preceded
her in death in December 1990; she then married Wayne Curtis in June
1999. She worked at Hamilton Communication in Aurora, Nebraska prior to
her stroke in 2001; Cheri was also an in home daycare provider for 15
years. Cheris most cherished moments were spending time with her family
and her dog Charlie. She loved gambling at the boats, watching
football, and shopping with her daughter and granddaughter.
Cheri was preceded in death by her parents; and husbands, Gene Walker
and Harold Szafrajda.
