Hastings resident, Allen O. Adams, 82, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Good Samaritan Home in Wood River, Nebraska.

Services will be Monday, August 1, 2011; 10:30 A.M. at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Hastings with Vicar Jeff Bergeron officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, July 29, 2011; 5:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M., Saturday, July 30, 2011; 9:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M., Sunday, July 31, 2011; 1:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. with family present from 7:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to the family.

Allen was born April 4, 1929 in Greenville, Iowa to Oscar and Selma Mary Lena (Bargloff) Adams. Allen worked with show horses and cattle in the Spencer, Iowa area. He moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1968 where he worked for Morrison Quirk Cattle Co. He then worked for T & L Irrigation doing land leveling. In 1986 to his retirement in 2006 he worked for Gibraltar Packaging as a semi truck driver. He was a member of First St Paul’s Lutheran Church. Allen enjoyed his family, working in his yard, and woodworking. He married Joyce Klarstrom in 1948. They had seven children. They later divorced. In 1969 he married Virginia Kirstine.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and son, Bruce Kirstine.
