Hastings resident, La Vonne Ockinga Bundgaard, 89, passed away Tuesday,
July 19, 2011 at Kearney County Health Services in Minden, Nebraska.
Services will be Friday, July 22, 2011; 2:00 P.M. at Peace Lutheran
Church, Hastings with Rev. Marcus J. Mackay officiating. Burial will be
in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday,
July 21, 2011; 1:00 P.M. 9:00 P.M. with family present 6:00 P.M - 8:00
P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to service at the church.
Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church.
La Vonne was born March 26, 1922 in Blue Hill, Nebraska to Willard &
Frances (Witrhlik) Trine. She married Alvin C. Ockinga in 1946; he
preceded her in death on December 13, 1964. She married Kenneth F.
Bundgaard in February 1974. La Vonne worked at the Hastings Tribune, as
a surgical aide at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, helped on the farm,
and was a homemaker. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and was
involved with the womens group. La Vonne was one of the founding
members of the Parents without Partners group. She enjoyed her family,
flowers, traveling, gardening, and square dancing.
La Vonne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin C. Ockinga;
brother, La Verne G. Trine; and great-granddaughter, Addison Marks.
