Hastings resident, Rondon R. Chitty, 49, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska.

A memorial service will be Monday, July 18, 2011; 10:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Major Abe Tamayo officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Sunday, July 17, 2011; 3:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. with family present at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family.

Rondon was born February 2, 1962 in Hastings, Nebraska to Joseph A. & Ruby A. (Dye) Chitty. He was a lifelong resident of Hastings and did home repairs for the elderly. He attended the Salvation Army Church and was a member of the YMCA. As a young boy he enjoyed playing basketball with neighborhood friends and riding his bike with his brother, Randy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening.

Rondon was preceded in death by his parents.
