Hastings
resident, Mildred J. (Engel) Komrofske, 86, passed away Saturday, July
16, 2011, at Good Samaritan Village.
Services will be Wednesday, July 20, 2011; 10:00 a.m. at 1st St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial
will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be
Monday, July 18, 2011; 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2011;
9:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will be present on
Tuesday from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to Asera Care
Hospice or Alzheimers Association.
Mildred J. (Engel) Komrofske was born on June 26, 1925 on a farm south
of Inland Nebraska to Fred and Almuth (Flesner) Engel. She was baptized
at Zion Lutheran Church in Clay Center, NE on August 2, 1925 and was
confirmed there in 1939. She attended Inland School and graduated in May
1942 from twelfth grade. Mildred moved with her family to a farm one
mile south of Hastings in 1944. On January 1, 1946 she married Clyde
Walther. They lived on a farm near Saronville. They moved to Hastings in
1957. Their marriage ended in 1959. Mildred worked at various stores as
a retail clerk. She married Maurice Motley on September 29, 1960. He
passed away on September 2, 1978. On September 15, 1983, Mildred married
Bud Komrofske. He passed away on February 12, 2000. Mildred worked at
the Regional Center from January 1979 until she retired in 1985.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Clyde Walther
(1979), Maurice Motley, Bud Komrofske, a daughter: Judy Glisson, and
brothers: Arnold Engel and Chet Engel.
