resident, Charles Butch L. Sell, 74, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011
at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska.
Services will be Wednesday, July 27, 2011; 10:30 A.M. at Grace United
Methodist Church, Hastings with Rev. Dr. Lee R. Wigert officiating.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will
be Tuesday, July 26, 2011; 7:00 P.M. 9:00 P.M. with family present at
the funeral home and one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials
may be given to American Heart Association.
Charles was born April 12, 1937 in Nelson, Nebraska to Fern Haidsaik &
Adam Sell. He attended Nelson High School and graduated in 1956. Charles
farmed and worked for Superior Deshler Propane when he met the love of
his life, Joyce Elliott. On January 22, 1967 they married in Holstein,
Nebraska. They lived in Hastings, Nebraska where one son was born, then
moved to Trumbull, Nebraska where two more sons and one daughter were
born. They moved back to Hastings and made their home there. Charles
started working for Ford New Holland on October 17, 1966 where he
retired after 35 years. Charles and his wife delivered papers for the
Hastings Tribune for five years around the Doniphan and Trumbull area.
He loved his family, playing cards, and his dog Pugsly. Charles was a
great storyteller and loved delivering papers to his customers.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Sell;
and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
