Hastings resident, Charles “Chuck” E. Handler, 57, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial service will be Tuesday, June 14, 2011; 2:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Tony Anderson officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the family.

Chuck was born November 18, 1953 in Wood River, Illinois to George & Doris (Tretter) Handler. He graduated from high school in 1972. He married Kathy Briggs on January 14, 2002; they later separated. He worked as a deck hand on the river and did home construction. Chuck enjoyed bowling, hunting, camping, fishing and spending time with grandchildren.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents.
