Wanda M. Dahlsten

Clay Center resident, Wanda M. Dahlsten, 86, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at The Homestead Assisted Living in Hastings, Nebraska.

A memorial service will be Saturday, March 5, 2011; 2:00 P.M. at Clay Center Christian Church, Clay Center, Nebraska with Pastor Bruce Paulus officiating. Private family burial will be in Clay Center Cemetery, Clay Center, Nebraska. There will be no viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Mills Schroder Post 87 Clay Center American Legion, Clay Center Volunteer Fire Department, or Clay Center Christian Church. Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.

Wanda was born April 15, 1924 in Clay Center, Nebraska to James R. “Tod” & Ruby (Bottorff) Heglin. On November 3, 1945 she married Howard Dahlsten; he preceded her in death in 1979. Howard and Wanda owned Dahlsten Truck Line, Inc. She was a member of the Clay Center Christian Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and was the chairman of the Nebraska Trucking Association Board from 1986 through 1988.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Dahlsten; and sister, Donna Philips.
