Hastings resident, Mary Rose Ekstein, 58, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare in Hastings, Nebraska.

The Perkins staff and residents service will be Monday, March 28, 2011; 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. at Peace Chapel, Perkins Pavilion 100 Wing, Hastings; memorial services will be Monday, March 28, 2011; 2:00 P.M. at All Saints Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Dale Phillips officiating. The family will be present at both services. Private family burial will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the family.

Mary was born October 22, 1952 in Pauline, Nebraska to Ernest L. & Mary R. (Parker) Ekstein. She was a lifelong area resident and a homemaker. Mary lived at the village for 33 years due to her health. The family thanks the staff at Perkins for the special care they gave Mary.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Daniel Ekstein; one niece; and one great-nephew.
