Hastings resident, Herman Louis Hibbeler, 90, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Monday, May 23, 2011; 8:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, May 24, 2011; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Sunday, May 22, 2011; 1:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M., Monday, May 23, 2011; 9:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and 1 hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Disabled American Veterans.

Herman was born June 1, 1920 in Pauline, Nebraska to Henry Herman & Wilhemina Hibbeler. He attended Pauline Public Schools. He married Minerva Rose Ironshell; she preceded him in death in June 20, 1985. Herman served in the U.S. Navy from October 20, 1942 until December 28, 1945. He later served in the Army National Guard. He married Marilyn Lindberg on June 24, 2004. He worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker; he later retired from Central Community College.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Minerva Rose Hibbeler; and sisters, Sophia, Wilhemina, Margaret, and Martha.
