resident, Wilbur L. Crawford, 79, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011
at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Rosary will be Thursday, December 1, 2011; 7:30 P.M. at Butler Volland
Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 2, 2011; 10:30
A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Father
Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery,
Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 30, 2011;
5:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M., Thursday, December 1, 2011; 9:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M.
at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at
a later date.
Wilbur was born February 24, 1932 in Bedford, Iowa to Dexter “Rex” &
Velma (Dougherty) Crawford. He married Patricia “Pat” O’Keefe on
September 13, 1951 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Hastings. Wilbur
worked for the Navy Ammunition Depot (NAD) until it was closed;
Patterson Well Drilling for eight years; Farmland Industries for 26
years; and Hastings Correctional Center for two years. He was a co-owner
of Pat’s Hallmark in the Imperial Mall. Wilbur was a member of St.
Michael’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Third Degree, and
volunteered at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare. He was a wonderful
husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to his family.
Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William
Crawford and John Crawford; and nephew, Michael Cooper.
