Arbadella Evelyn (Arbie) Hemberger

Hastings resident Arbadella Evelyn “Arbie” Hemberger, 85, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at CHI St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Lincoln, NE.

Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hastings with Fr. Jeremy Hazuka officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorials Gardens Cemetery in Hastings, NE. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. with the family present 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the Hastings Alumni Special Olympics. Arbie was born on April 20, 1940, in Blue Hill, NE, to Claus and Adeline (Buss) Goos. She graduated from Blue Hill High School. Arbie married Alfred Hemberger on September 28, 1963, at Assumption Catholic Church in Assumption, NE. To this union, they had one daughter, Cindy Hemberger. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2010. She worked at Mary Lanning Health Care as the switchboard operator and made phone calls for Knights of Columbus Life Insurance. Arbie was head of delegation for Hastings Alumni Special Olympics.

Arbie was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Alfred Hemberger; Brother in laws, Kenny Hemberger and Bill Woods.
